Book updates!
Hello! If you are receiving this email, it’s because (once-upon-a-time) you subscribed to my newsletter through my website! I must admit, I have been sorely neglecting this mailing list, so let me re-introduce myself…
My name is Veronica Mang and I am the author & illustrator of Secret Spy Society, published by Viking Childrens Books! I create books for children (I have more in the works…!) and work with messy analog materials like paint and graphite and cut paper. Currently, I live and work in Jersey City, NJ, where I am dutifully assisted by two rescue cats and a very kind engineer.
My first two books (Case of the Missing Cheetah and Case of the Curious Scouts) were released in 2021 and 2022, and the third book comes out in just under three weeks! It’s called Case of the Musical Mishap, and I’m so excited to share this one with readers. As you might guess, this dips a bit into the exciting world of music (readers who have started playing instruments will find this extra exciting).
Here’s the cover, which I worked hard to create with the help of my Art Director Kate Renner, editor Tamar Brazis, and agent Andrea Morrison (who is always cheering me on behind the scenes!)
This will formally hit shelves on March 28th (until then, I’m double checking the mail every day while I not-so-patiently await my author copies!)
If you would like to pre-order a copy, you can do so here, through Bookshop.org (which supports indie bookstores), or through your local bookstore. One of my favorites in NYC is Books of Wonder, but there are lots to choose from!
With that said, I have some fun free downloads to share! This is for kids of all ages, though I hope any young spies will especially appreciate them… You can download printable versions here!

I’ve also created a worksheet for kids to draw themselves right into the league of extraordinary spies!
